The Derrick Denham Studios identity was developed for a classical pianist and recording studio seeking a visual language that reflects discipline, precision, and artistic restraint. The brief called for a contemporary system rooted in classical tradition.

Logo Design
At the centre of the identity is a custom symbol derived from the bird’s-eye silhouette of a grand piano, subtly resolving into the initial “D”. Rather than functioning as a literal illustration, the form is abstracted into a sculptural mark — balancing organic curvature with controlled geometry. This dual reading allows the symbol to reference the instrument itself while operating confidently as an independent typographic signature.

Visual System & Brand Application
The visual system extends the piano-derived form beyond the mark itself, using its silhouette as a structural device within layouts. This approach allows the instrument to shape negative space, framing typography and content with deliberate asymmetry rather than ornamental detail.
